The Rossi Brothers

Achieving 40 years in the catering industry is no mean feat in a competitive market, and Rugantinos at the Ancient Gatehouse Hotel has celebrated its birthday with a refurbishment, to ensure the restaurant’s appearance and ambience matches the high quality of its food.

Francesco Rossi started Rugantinos restaurant in Wells 40 years ago, and today it is run by his two sons, Jon and Nick, who continue to offer a delicious menu of classic, homemade italian cuisine.

“It’s a new direction and a breath of fresh air, we have managed to revitalise the restaurant and the menu while retaining the original spirit of the business,” says Jon.
“We wanted to keep some familiarity for regular customers but also offer something new and exciting for the people of Somerset.”

Rossi Loyalty

The Ancient Gatehouse and Rugantinos is one of two restaurants in the Rossi and Rossi loyalty scheme. You can choose between three levels of membership: Black, Red and Basic. Each one offers fantastic benefits and discounts which can be used in any of the Rossi and Rossi restaurants.

Each member receives monthly offers for birthdays, anniversaries and partners birthdays. With the Black and Red membership cards you receive free tea and coffee with every food purchase over £10. For every £1 you spend you receive 1 point. When you have saved 150 points you can choose between a free bottle of house wine or £5 off your bill.
